ABOUT
I moved to Taipei in 2015 from frigid Wyoming, where I was the editor for the small town Rawlins Daily Times. I'm fluent in English, Mandarin, Cantonese and proficient in Spanish and Japanese, and I have more than 15 years of reporting experience in the US, Latin America and Asia.
I write a weekly local history feature for the Taipei Times and cover a wide range of feature stories with an emphasis on cultural / linguistic preservation, human rights, curious local phenomena and offbeat travel experiences.
I have published a history book, Legendary Locals of Rawlins, and I'm working on one about Taiwan. I also play bass guitar in several bands, including Deinovore.
